A complete rewire and installation of a new consumer fuse board, Complete central heating system, New Kitchen, Store room conversion and bathroom refurbishment carried out by Harveys Builders Ltd for a customer whose previous three bedroom property we carried out similar works for.

Our customer wanted to continue living in the property (Mum, Dad and two children) whilst the works where carried out.

Heating - Harveys Builders Ltd removed he existing boiler, Hot water cylinder and loft tanks and installed a new combination condensing boiler along with all associated pipework and new radiators were fitted.
 

Electrics - Whilst keeping the existing supply running for as long as possible a complete rewire of the property was carried out and a new 12 way consumer unit was fitted complete with an RCB and resetable fuses.

Kitchen - The kitchen works consisted of a complete strip out including removal of plaster from walls, Formation of a doorway opening through to an old store room and outside toilet. we installed new windows and French doors, Re-plastered the walls and ceiling. Supplied and installed a new Howden’s kitchen inclusive of all wiring and plumbing works and then tiled the floor and walls and completed the works decorating through out.

Old Store Room - The old store room works consisted of a complete strip out and demolition of the old toilet block, blocking up of old rear entrance door, Formation of a new rear window opening complete with structural lintel and new white UPVC window.

The roof supports were found to be unsatisfactory so new cross member timbers were installed to strengthen the roof, all the external single brick walls were covered with a damp proof membrane and insulated and boarded to comply with building regulating. The floor had a new damp proof membrane fitted and was screened ready for tiling. The room was plastered throughout and a new utility kitchen fitted with washing machine, tumble dryer fitted, completion of the works included tiling and decorated.

Bathroom - The Bathroom was the biggest challenge as we had to keep the old bathroom in service during the refurbishment for as long as possible.

The existing bathroom and WC were separate and walls were demolished and the old WC door blocked up to turn both rooms into a large family bathroom, A new UPVC window was fitted replacing the existing walls was removed and the room completely rewired, new plumbing and wastes fitted, during a three day shut down of the existing bathroom the old suite was removed the remaining walls replastered, the walls and floor tiled and new suite fitted and decoration works then completed the project.
